In 1799 Francisco Goya published his critical series of etchings entitled "Los Caprichos", using the aquatint techniques in the groundbreaking manner for the first time. The grainy texture, vivid areas of light and intense areas of dark contribute to the dramatic quality of his prints. The levels of darkness in these works are never flat. This exhibition presents Israeli artists including Ra'anan Levy, Ofer Lellouche, Erez Israeli and others whose work corresponds to Goya's achievements in the arena of print. The unique technique pioneered by Goya enables the contemporary artist to achieve infinite depths in their work.
